Hunter Pence: He’s on a tear right now and can be one of baseball’s best when he’s going right. He put up at least 8 points in 3 of 4 contests against the Mets this past weekend and makes for a strong play tonight against Milwaukee rookie Jimmy Nelson. $3,600 is more than a fair price.
Nick Markakis: Not only is he playing very well of late, but he’s also facing a pitcher tonight that he’s had a ton of success against for his career in Mark Buehrle. In 46 at bats, Markakis has 20 hits (.435 average) with 2 HR, 7 RBI, 5 doubles and a 1.154 OPS. Don’t worry about lefty on lefty in this matchup. Ride Markakis. At $2,800 he should absolutely be in your lineup.
Delmon Young: Like Markakis, Delmon has great career numbers against the Toronto southpaw. With 4 HR, 8 RBI, a .396 average and 1.108 OPS – he makes for a very nice value today at the price of $2,700.
Adam Eaton: The diminutive White Sox leadoff man is on a nice little stretch right now. He’s averaging 5.7 points over his last 3 contests and is coming off a 7 point performance last night. Facing Colby Lewis is a bit of a treat for hitters these days, too.
Buster Posey: He had 4.75 points yesterday and 12.75 the night before. Like with Pence, I’m expecting the San Francisco offense to have a nice day off Nelson. Get Posey into your lineup and let the good times roll.
Jesse Hahn ($7,100) – He’s made quite an impact on the Padres since his debut earlier this year, and has been a consistent source of points for daily fantasy leaguers. A nice little stretch: 13 points against St Louis last week, another 13 against Atlanta the start prior and 15 before that at the Dodgers. In his last 8 starts, he’s given up only 8 earned runs with a healthy dose of Ks. Pretty nice numbers for a rookie hurler. He’s on the road against the lowly Twins tonight who have never faced him before. Six or seven innings of one run ball with a K/IP and a win sounds about right to me.
