Safe SP

Johnny Cueto ($10,400): Anytime you get the chance to pair a top flight ace against the worst hitting team in the majors, while playing in a great pitching park – you take it.  I'm all in on Cueto today despite the heavy price tag.

Potential Value SP

Jake Odorizzi ($6,900): Jake has elite K numbers (97 in 83 IP so far), and has allowed 2 or less ER's in each of his last four starts.  Sure the Yankees are not an ideal matchup on paper for anyone – but the bright side is he is facing Vidal Nuno today, and as such – I like his chances as a value SP for today to pick up the 4 points for a win.

Safe Bats

Ryan Braun ($5,000): Braun has been swinging it in his last seven games, posting 11 hits, 6 runs, 8RBI and chipping in with a dinger and a stolen base.  He faces Happ from Toronto today and has historically hit him well (7-23, 2 HR) in his career.

Jose Altuve ($4,700): The price tag seems high for Altuve – but while he is on the roll he is on, I am more than happy to pay the price.  Especially when today's opposing pitcher is Chris Young.

Kyle Seager ($3,800): Seager has been one of baseball's best players over the last 6 weeks and has posted more than 4 points in four of his last ten contests.  He faces Brad Peacock today and I expect him to have a good day for the Mariners.

Potential Value Bats

James Jones ($2,900): Back to back monster days for Jones make him appealing to me today (7-11, 5R, 2RBI, 3 SB so far vs Houston in this series).  Facing Brad Peacock, I expect him to be able to get on base and continue to produce.

Mookie Betts ($2,200): There is some question about the weather for tonight's game, but even though he hasn't hit so far since getting the call – facing a lefty like Travis Wood could be just what the doctor ordered.  For a basement bargain price of $2,200 – I am thrilled to take a shot on Betts if I am cash strapped from other larger investments in today's lineup(s).
